Toronto Blue Jays manager John Schneider has had a phenomenal 2025 season and it looks like he has a real chance at winning AL Manager of the Year.

John Schneider has a real shot at winning AL Manager of the Year

As the MLB season draws to a close, many are looking towards award season and who will take home some hardware which it looks like Schneider has a real shot at winning.
According to a recent report by Shi Davidi, AL Manager of the Year award will likely be between either Schneider and Detroit Tigers manager A.J Finch and Boston Red Sox manager Alex Cora seems to also have a slight chance.
"Three rival scouts polled this week said Schneider would be among their finalists if they had a vote, one listing him as the top pick, another describing it as a toss-up between Schneider and Hinch and a third saying Schneider and Cora were the top contenders. Voting is conducted by members of the Baseball Writers' Association of America (full transparency, this writer is not voting for the award)." -Davidi

The only Blue Jays manager to ever win the ward was Bobby Cox back in 1985 as Cito Gaston came close between 1989 and 1993 but unfortunately was never able to win the award.
"Bobby Cox is the only Blue Jays manager to bag the prize, claiming it in 1985, when he led the club to its first American League East title. Cito Gaston finished an unjust second in 1989 - when he took over after a 12-24 start and led the team to its second division crown, overtaking the Baltimore Orioles managed by award winner Frank Robinson - third in 1991 and '93, and fourth in '92." -Davidi

If the Blue Jays end up winning the AL East division there is a very good chance that Schneider ends up being at least a finalist for the award with the season he has had in Toronto.
While there is some other solid options such as Finch, very few have been able to lead a team so filled with injuries to such a high place in the standings this season.
