The Toronto Blue Jays will be buyers at this year's trade deadline but that does not mean they won't be moving players which is where rookie Alan Roden is at risk.
The
Blue Jays have big plans for the trade deadline as they are only a few missing pieces away from being a serious contender which means adding 1-2 pitchers at the deadline plus a solid hitter.
Alan Roden might end up getting trade by the Blue Jays at the trade deadline
The Blue Jays are playing great but also have some big necessities at the trade deadline which means they will need to move on from certain players if they plan on going all in.
One name that has come up is rookie outfielder Alan Roden who the Blue Jays might be forced to trade if they want to bring in players that can help them win now.
Sometimes that means trading the player that's blocking the prospect. Sometimes it means blocking the prospect.
The publication highlighted one Blue Jays prospect that could be dealt for this reason - outfielder Alan Roden. -Postins
Roden has not had the best season this year with the Blue Jays as he has played 42 games with one homerun, 8 RBIs and a .206 batting average while also spending time in the minors.
Roden was Toronto's third-round pick in 2022 out of Creighton. Earlier this season he made his Major League debut and has played in 42 games with a slash of .206/.279/.309 with one home runs and eight RBI. -Postins
The problem with trading Roden is that the young player clearly has a very bright future in the MLB but at the same time Toronto will need to make some sacrifices if they want a real shot at the World Series this year.
If the Blue Jays want to bring in big time players at the deadline, they will need to put together real solid packages as a return which could likely include Roden.
