The New York Yankees are apparently looking to replace Anthony Volpe in the off-season and their are eyeing Toronto Blue Jays shortstop Bo Bichette.

In a recent report, the Blue Jays were named as the favorite to land Bichette this off-season after his incredible 2025 campaign even though it will certainly cost them quite a bit.

Yankees looking to replace Anthony Volpe with Bo Bichette

The Yankees seem to be done with the Volpe experiment as it has clearly not panned out and it looks like they plan on going after Bichette as his replacement.
MLB reporter Christopher Kline recently stated that he believes that Volpe is on his way out on New York and that Bichette will be the Yankees top target this off-season.
"The Anthony Volpe experiment has sufficiently fizzled out," Christopher Kline wrote for FanSided. "Bichette can stabilize the left side of the infield next to Ryan McMahon. Moreover, he's a far more consistent hitter than Volpe."-Kline

Kline also added the Yankees have the finances to outbid any team including the Blue Jays and on top of that Toronto fans would have to suffer watching Bichette for the divisional rival Yankees.
"New York has the financial wherewithal, the positional need and the divisional spite necessary to commit significant resources toward Bichette," Kline added. "It puts Bichette in primetime, with a chance to torture the Blue Jays for years to come." -Kline

According to Spotrac, Bichette is projected to land a contract worth $182 million in the off-season but with how well he has been hitting this season, there is a good chance he will surpass $200 million.
"Guerrero recently signed a $500 million extension with the team, but Bichette has the chance to become a free agent at the end of the year with a projected $182 million price tag moving forward, per Spotrac." -Chawaga

If the Blue Jays are able to retain Bichette this off-season, they will need to make him an offer that will keep him from being intrigued by other offers which means they will likely need to surpass the $200 million mark.
