The Toronto Blue Jays are still looking to bring in more offense especially if they end up losing Bo Bichette and it looks like there is interest in CJ Abrams.

The Blue Jays are still seen as the top landing spot for Bichette this off-season but things can always change depending on the different offers he receives over the course of the off-season.

Blue Jays could look at trade with the Nationals for C.J. Abrams

The Nationals are currently looking to make some big moves as they try to rebuild after a disaster of a 2025 season.
According to certain reports, they are listening to offers on Abrams and Mackenzie Gore as both players are receiving quite a bit of attention from multiple teams.
The Atlanta Braves, Cincinnati Reds and Blue Jays all are expected to have interest in trading for Abrams.
«Many execs believe #Nationals will make a big move this offseason. They believe Toboni will part with either SP MacKenzie Gore or SS CJ Abrams, potentially both,» MoccBomb wrote on November 30th. «Gore will be highly coveted by many teams. Including #Giants #Cubs #Orioles #RedSox and many others. Abrams, on the other hand, will be interesting as many teams view him more as a 2B. I'd expect #Braves #Reds #BlueJays to be in on him.» -MoccBomb

The Blue Jays are only expected to go aggressively go after Abrams if they end up losing Bichette as they would have him play second base while Andres Gimenez takes over shortstop.
«#BlueJays if they aren't able to resign Bo, makes lots of sense. Giménez would slide to SS, and CJ would handle 2B.» -MoccBomb

While the main goal is to keep Bichette, bringing a young and talented player like Abrams could certainly be an incredible plan B for the Blue Jays.
In 2025, Abrams finished with a solid 19 home runs and 60 RBIs in 144 games which is quite far off from Bichette's numbers but could still end up being a solid replacement.
