Recent report revealed that the Toronto Blue Jays came close to closing on a deal at the trade deadline with the Houston Astros for superstar Vladimir Guerrero.
The Blue Jays superstar Vladimir Guerrero had an unbelievable season in Toronto which fans have been hoping will turn into a massive extension for him as he is set to enter the final year of his contract in 2025.
Guerrero has stated on multiple occasions that he would like to play his entire career in Toronto but towards the end of the season stated that he understands that it is a business and that a deal might not end up getting done.

A recent report stated that the Blue Jays came close to closing a deal with the Houston Astros at this year's trade deadline for Guerrero but general manager Ross Atkins ended up coming to his senses and cancelling the deal.
During the trade deadline, there were rumors that the Houston Astros were interested in trading for Vladimir Guerrero Jr.
Unfortunately for the Astros, Guerrero never became available, as the Toronto Blue Jays made a smart decision not to trade their young star. However, with the Blue Jays' future outlook, their mindset could change regarding trading Guerrero in the near future. -Conahan

This is no reassuring news for Blue Jays fans that are hoping that the Blue Jays will sign Guerrero to an extension this off-season despite signs pointing to the fact that Atkins does not seem in a hurry to get a deal done.
