Ricky Romero rips into the Blue Jays coaching staff
The Blue Jays fell apart in game 2 with a 10-3 loss to go down in the series 2-0 as they are headed back to Seattle with a must win in game 3.
After the game Romero voiced his opinion online and was not pleased with the Blue Jays coaching staff's decision to pull Trey Yesavage so early in the game.
Can we let starters work out of trouble for once!!! I mean cmon.
Romero stated that just because a pitcher has a few pitches with lower velocity does not mean that he is done as it only takes one good pitch to get him back into the game.
We have become so fixated on velocity it's crazy. Sometimes it takes one pitch to get you out of trouble and then you're back on track. I never pitched in October but i know that when adrenaline kicked in later in the game it was on. Heart, guts, and determination!
The former Jays pitcher has been highly critical of the coaching staff throughout the playoffs as this is not the first time he mentions that they took out a pitcher too early.
While Yesavage did not have his best game today, he was only at 70-odd pitches thrown when the Blue Jays decided to pull him from the game and it was still a tight game at that point.
The Blue Jays clearly need to make some big changes if they plan on coming back in this series.
