The Toronto Blue Jays and Jose Berrios relationship does not seem to be in a good spot after Ross Atkins spoke to media today.

During the press conference, Atkins also spoke on Bieber's current health situation and it looks like he is still dealing with some issues from his surgery.

Blue Jays and Jose Berrios seem to be in a rough spot right now

Atkins spoke to the media this afternoon and was asked about the team's current relationship with Berrios and things do not look to good.

According to Atkins, Berrios was unhappy that he was left out of their rotation and then added that he simply was left off due to roster selection.

Ross Atkins says Berrios' absence during the World Series was Berrios' decision.

Asked: Was Berrios unhappy?

“He was not happy … He was disappointed that he wasn't in our rotation. He handled it well, but then when it came down to roster selection, he wasn't on it.” #BlueJays

Due to the Blue Jays currently stacked starting rotation and this update it looks like there is a good chance Toronto ends up trading him.

José Berrios has been a starter for pretty much his entire pro career, so his disappointment around being pushed out of the rotation last season is understandable.

However, with an already-deep 2026 rotation, you can see why #BlueJays are exploring trade possibilities...

There is no real surprise with this since Berrios told reporters that he was not happy with being moved out of the bullpen but this definitely adds to the rumors that the Blue Jays are taking trade calls on him.
