The Toronto Blue Jays are getting closer to fall baseball, the team is looking primed for a deep postseason run, especially their pitching rotation, unfortunately for starting pitcher Jose Berrios it might not be looking too good.

Berrios might be the odd man out of the rotation during the playoffs, simply because theres too many good options available.

Jose Berrios at risk of not getting any starts for Toronto Blue Jays postseason.

Thomas Hall of Blue Jays Nation explained the current situation regarding the pitching rotation of the Toronto Blue Jays, and why it isn't looking good for Jose Berrios.
"In Berrios' case, well, the past several weeks haven't been kind to his playoff bid. In his most recent start on Tuesday, coming against the sub-.500 Tampa Bay Rays at George M. Steinbrenner Field (home of the New York Yankees' single-A affiliate), the results were again subpar."-Hall

" Despite receiving four runs of support through the first two innings, the 31-year-old righty only lasted four in his 30th start of 2025, hitting that mark for the seventh consecutive season (excluding the '20 COVID-shortened campaign). Granted, all three runs he allowed came via Brandon Lowe's controversial fan-interfered home run during the bottom of the third."-Hall

Berrios' most recent start featured zero strikeouts, and the veteran is feeling the pressure to deliver before its too late.
"It's not about the names on the back of the jerseys anymore. Instead, it's «what have you done for me lately?» That's how these things typically work during this time of the year."-Hall

Unfortunately for Berrios, it was bad timing that came down to everything, he started the season well and looked to be a lock in the rotation, but with the addition of Shane Bieber, the emergence of Trey Yesavage , and recent struggles, it doesn't look like he will be throwing any pitches in the postseason, or at the very least not starting any games.
