As the trade deadline rapidly approaches, many wonder if the Toronto Blue Jays will be buyers or sellers which is why there has been many rumors including one regarding pitcher Kevin Gausman going to the Chicago Cubs.
Gausman has had a shaky season so far as he has certain moments of brilliance followed by others where he completely collapses which is why it has been said that the Blue Jays expect a lot more out of him.

The big question is still on if the Blue Jays will end up sellers or buyers at the deadline since they currently sit just under .500 on the season which means as it currently stands they are out of a playoff spot.
During a recent report, it was stated that Gausman would be a great fit for the Chicago Cubs if they end up looking to improve their starting rotation before the start of the playoffs.
Meanwhile, on Monday, Newsweek's Andrew Wright named Gausman as a trade fit for the Chicago Cubs, an obvious buyer with a desperate need for more frontline starting pitching. -Roberts
"Gausman is the ace on a Blue Jays team that looks to be a bit stuck. It is unclear if they are going to try and contend in the AL East this season, but if Toronto decides to make moves, Gausman could be a prime trade candidate for the Cubs," -Wright
While the Blue Jays will likely end up moving on from Gausman as he is on the back end of his career and only has one year left on his contract, the chances of him shopping him seem to be slim.
The only way the Blue Jays would move on from Gausman and trade him to the Cubs would be if they are offered an insane return which is the case for the majority of the roster apart from a few untouchables like Vladimir Guerrero Jr.
Regardless if the Blue Jays end up buyers at the deadline, some big changes will clearly be made even if Gausman is not traded since they need to mix things up if they want to make a push for the playoffs.
