Terrifying incident as Toronto Blue Jays Ernie Clement leaves the game after taking a fastball to the face

The Toronto Blue Jays took on the Detroit Tigers and a scary incident took place with infielder Ernie Clement as he took a fastball to the face.
Earlier in the game, fans were also worried about shortstop Bo Bichette who left the game after his second at bat but it was announced no longer after that he was only scheduled to take two at bats.

During the game, Clement took a 91.3 MPH fastball from Tigers pitcher Ty Madden to the face which left him bleeding quite a bit as he left the game through the visitors clubhouse along with the teams trainer.

Ernie Clement walked to the visitors' clubhouse with a Blue Jays team trainer after being hit by a pitch in the face here in Lakeland. Will update more when we know more.
The Blue Jays announced on social media that Clement has a lip laceration and contusion which hopefully means it was only a bad cut and there was no more severe injury involved.
