The Arizona Diamondbacks announced this afternoon that they have decided to DFA former Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Kendall Graveman.

There has been a lot of former Blue Jays pitchers hitting the free agent market recently as even Thomas Hatch was DFA'd by the Kansas City Royals.

Former Blue Jays pitcher Kendall Graveman has been DFA'd by the Diamondbacks

The Diamondbacks broke the news that they decided to designate Graveman for assignment this afternoon to make room on their roster for Gus Varland who they claimed from the Chicago White Sox.after a few rough outings this season and some injury problems.
RHP Kendall Graveman closes out his #Dbacks career with a 7.13 ERA over 19 appearances. That $5M mutual option is out the window.

RHP Gus Varland, who ARZ plucked from CHW off waivers, appeared in 26 G in '24 (with LAD & CHW) and had a 3.42 ERA (27 K, 1.44 WHIP).
Graveman was release due to some a few rough outings this season along with some injury problems but only last a month after coming off IL before being DFA'd.

In 17.2 innings pitched for the Diamondbacks, Graveman put up a terrible 7.13 ERA with only 9 strikeouts.
Graveman did not spend much time in Toronto as he was drafted by them in 2013 and made his debut in 2014 but only lasted 4.2 innings before being traded to the Oakland Athletics as part of the package for Josh Donaldson.
At 34 years old, it certainly will not be easy for Graveman to find himself a new contract, especially with the numbers he put up in 2025.
