#BlueJays selected RHP Richard Gallardo from CHC's system in the minor-league phase of the Rule 5 draft.

The 22 y/o pitched to a 6.06 ERA (2.94 FIP) with 17 Ks in 16.1 IP at AA last season. He missed most of 2024 with an undisclosed injury.

Outfielder Jacob Wetzel on the other hand spent his season with the Cubs single-A affiliate team where he had 8 homeruns and 43 RBIs in 91 games last season along with a .253 batting average.

While Gallardo's numbers are a little rough, Wetzel seems to have some promise even though he is still far away from making a major league appearance he will surely help improve the Blue Jays farm system.
