The Toronto Blue Jays acquire former Milwaukee Brewers pitcher
The Toronto Blue Jays announced that they have officially signed former Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Elieser Hernandez to a minor league deal.
The Blue Jays have not been too focus on signings lately as they currently have a full roster with their latest transactions involved Buddy Kennedy who was DFA'd then claimed off waivers by the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Hernandez has been without a contract for the entire 2025 season since he was DFA'd then released by the Brewers in June of the 2024 season as has been a free agent ever since.

According to the Blue Jays transaction list, the team just signed Hernandez to a minor league deal and have assigned him to the Florida Complex League Blue Jays to finish the season.
Hernandez has yet been without a contract for over a year which is why the Blue Jays have sent him to Florida as he begins to ramp up again before they decide where to place him.
During his last season in the MLB, Hernandez struggled, playing for both the Dodgers and Brewers where he put up a 6.32 ERA in 15.2 innings pitched with 8 strikeouts.
The best season of Hernandez' career came in 2020 with the Miami Marlins where he finished with a 3.16 ERA in 25.2 innings pitched and 24 strikeouts.
The Blue Jays are likely hoping that he will find a way to return to the pitcher he was with the Marlins a few years back.
