The Toronto Blue Jays announce terrible news on Bowden Francis
The Toronto Blue Jays announced quite a few roster moves this evening in which one saw Bowden Francis headed for 60 day IL.
Francis has been out with a shoulder injury for quite some time now and since the injury seemed to come out of nowhere, many thought it would not last long but it looks like he might be done for the season.
Blue Jays place Bowden Francis on 60 day IL and option Alan Roden
Toronto announced quite a few roster moves prior to their game against the Baltimore Orioles tonight as Francis has been placed on 60 day IL while Will Wagner has been activated and outfielder Alan Roden has been optioned back to Triple-A.
ROSTER MOVES:
INF Will Wagner reinstated from Restricted List and will be active tonight
OF Alan Roden optioned to Triple-A
RHP Bowden Francis transferred to 60-day IL

Bowden Francis to the 60-day to clear space for Will Wagner's return. Alan Roden optioned.
Wagner has been activated as he was granted a leave to attend his dad's Pro Baseball Hall of Fame induction ceremony which is why they have now optioned Roden to make room.
Hopefully this is just to make room on the Blue Jays roster but it looks like Franis might be out longer than expected as the team has yet to give an update on how his recovery has been going.
If Francis ends up being done for the season, acquiring a starting pitcher at the trade deadline has now become a top priority for Toronto as this puts them in quite the tough spot.
