The Toronto Blue Jays announced that they have decided to continue to try and improve their farm system by signing right handed pitcher Wagner Soto to a minor league deal.
The Blue Jays farm system is still seen as one of the worst in the MLB as they entered the season ranked 27th in the league which Mark Shapiro and Ross Atkins have been trying to improve with multiple signings this season.
Blue Jays announced that they have signed RHP Wagner Soto to minor league deal
The Blue Jays announced that they have signed a new pitcher, this time it is 16 year old Dominican right handed pitcher Wagner Soto who is set to join the Dominican Summer League Blue Jays according to reports.

This move came on the same day that the Blue Jays decided to call up LHP Josh Walker from the Buffalo Bisons and optioned starting pitcher Easton Lucas back down to Triple-A after a brutal performance.
There is not a ton known about Soto apart from his age and that he is 6 foot 1 weighing in at 155 pounds but that does not mean that he is not an incredibly skilled young pitcher.
While most international free agents tend to sign around 18-20 years old, player do sign younger than that just like Vladimir Guerrero Jr did as he was also 16 years old when the Blue Jays signed him.
Since Soto is so young, it will be interesting to see how he develops in the Blue Jays farm system over the next few season as he will not be getting a shot in the major leagues for at least 4-5 years.
Hopefully Atkins and Shapiro keeps signing young players as they need to improve their farm system if they want to have a bright future since their lineup is filled with older players right now.
