The Toronto Blue Jays' recent success is forcing several team to rethink their trade deadline strategies.

The Blue Jays have been on a tear recently, winning 12 of their last 14 games and emerging as one of the league's hottest teams as of late.

Jays' sudden success could derail multiple teams' trade deadline plans.

Kenneth Teape from Toronto Blue Jays On Si writes that that Blue Jays red-hot stretch has vaulted them to the top of the American League Wild Card standings, boasting a 38-30 record.
"This current hot streak is bad news for some franchises around the MLB because it means the Blue Jays will likely not be sellers ahead of the MLB trade deadline." -Teape

In fact, Tim Kelly of Bleacher Report has projected them to take an aggressive approach, predicting that they'll go down swinging in a bold push to secure a postseason berth.
«Not only will Toronto hope Anthony Santander, Jeff Hoffman and Bowden Francis turn around disappointing seasons, but it will also likely make some additions to try to sneak into the playoffs as an AL wild-card representative, if not the AL East champions." -Kelly

With team president Mark Shapiro, general manager Ross Atkins, and manager John Schneider all in the final year of their contracts and likely feeling the pressure, there's a strong incentive for them to make moves that can immediately boost the team's postseason chances.
"It would do them and their job security no good -- unless it was 100% necessary -- to sell pieces for future assets they may not even be around long enough to see prosper. Toronto has several players who would have been prime targets for contending teams to help push them over the hump." -Teape

Shortstop Bo Bichette would draw plenty of interest from teams in need of infield help. While he hasn't fully recaptured his 2021-23 form, he's still a proven offensive contributor, with eight home runs, 17 doubles, a triple, and 40 RBI so far this season.
Bichette is set to hit free agency soon, which would have made him a logical trade candidate, if the Blue Jays weren't firmly in the playoff race.
