The Blue Jays are in trade talks with the Mariners for pitcher Luis Castillo
The Blue Jays still need to add at least one starting pitcher to their rotation for the 2025 season and it looks like they could be interested in trading for Mariners pitcher Luis Castillo.

The Mariners have not been openly shopping him but as they look for other missing pieces in their lineup, they seem to be willing to move Castillo for the right return in a trade.
The Mariners aren't actively shopping Castillo, but have indicated that they would move him in the right deal. The Blue Jays, on the other hand, have been looking for starting pitching. -Farkas
Castillo has been consistent throughout his career with an ERA below 4.00 in his last 6 seasons while also putting up a solid 3.64 last season in 175.1 innings pitched while striking out 175 batters.
While Castillo isn't necessarily the "ace" that the M's acquired in 2022, he's still a very dependable starter with ace-like qualities. He went just 11-12 this season, but that was more a product of the M's tepid offense. He had a 3.64 ERA and made 30 starts for the second consecutive season. He's a three-time All-Star who represented the Mariners at the All-Star Game in 2023. - Farkas
This could be a great option for the Blue Jays as bringing in a solid pitcher like Castillo would improve their rotation drastically and would allow them to move Yariel Rodriguez to their bullpen next season.
