The Los Angeles Dodgers have overtaken the New York Yankees as baseball's top public enemy and now, it looks like the rich might be getting even richer as they eye a Blue Jays star.
Toronto Blue Jays star shortstop Bo Bichette could be heading to the Los Angeles Dodgers at the end of this season.
With the Blue Jays locking up Vladimir Guerrero Jr. to a massive $500 million extension, speculation is swirling around Bo Bichette's future in Toronto. Bichette could be on his way out and rumours say that the Los Angeles Dodgers will be quick to make a move for him.
Drew VonScio from Newsweek writes that there's been a ton of speculation about the Toronto Blue Jays star shortstop Bo Bichette being traded for quite some time now, and the Dodgers have also reportedly been in on him for awhile now.
Below is the full breakdown of the proposed trade:
LA Dodgers acquire: SS Bo Bichette Toronto Blue Jays acquire: SP Dustin May, SS Alex Freeland (Dodgers No. 5 prospect)
"Freeland currently finds himself blocked in Los Angeles, so a trade could open up a clear path to the majors for the 23-year-old infielder. Additionally, the Dodgers might be open to parting ways with Dustin May once Shohei Ohtani is back to pitching regularly." -VonScio
TJ French from Athlon Sports writes that Dodgers outfielder Mookie Betts is in the midst of a positional change to shortstop but has had his troubles and may benefit by moving to second.
"This would allow utilityman Tommy Edman to move to center field primarily, where the Dodgers have not received stable contributions from Andy Pages." -French
A middle infield featuring Bo Bichette and Mookie Betts would bring more balance to the Dodgers' lineup and strengthen their push for another World Series run.
If Andy Pages continues to struggle, a move like this, or something similar, could very well happen by the trade deadline.
