Toronto Blue Jays prospect is proving himself in their farm system.
Evan Stack from Blue Jays Nation writes that in 26 games across rookie ball, Single-A, and High-A last year, Pinto posted a .330/.378/.573 slash line with four home runs and 11 doubles. He was also named the Dominican Summer League's Most Valuable Player and earned MiLB All-Star recognition in 2021 while still with Colorado's organization.
That year, at just 18 and in his first professional season, he batted .360 with a 1.029 OPS, hitting three home runs, driving in 27 RBIs, adding 15 doubles, four triples, and stealing 41 bases over 54 games.
Adrian Pinto's seventh home run of the season from Wednesday evening.
"Pinto's minor league numbers have made him worthy of the 21st rank that he currently possesses in Toronto's farm system via MLB Pipeline. However, the biggest ability for him has been his availability.
A quick scan over his transaction log displays his five stints on the injured list since joining Toronto's organization, including a rib injury holding him to only 26 total games last year." -Stack
The phrase «keep your eye on insert prospect name» might be overused these days, but it definitely fits Pinto as he advances through the minors, writes Stack.
Hopefully, the Blue Jays will get a chance to give him an extended look at some point this season.
