The Toronto Blue Jays bullpen needs some serious help this off-season especially after they let multiple pitchers go at the non-tender deadline which is why they are now looking towards pitcher Kenley Jansen.

The Blue Jays parted ways with many pitchers in the last few weeks including Genesis Cabrera, Jordan Romano and Dillon Tate which is why they need to start signing relief pitchers soon if they want to have an affective bullpen next year.

The Red Sox had a similar season to the Blue Jays in 2024 and their bullpen struggled as well which is why both teams are interested in many of the same players this off-season.
Despite a tough year for the Red Sox bullpen, one of their only reliable pitchers was Kenley Jansen who finished the year with a 3.29 ERA and 27 saves in 54 appearances in 2024.
Boston's bullpen struggled overall in 2024, but there were some bright spots. Four-time All-Star Kenley Jansen unsurprisingly was a positive for the Red Sox. He logged a 3.29 ERA across 54 appearances and had a 62-to-20 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 54 2/3 innings pitched. Jansen also tallied 27 saves. -McAvoy

The Red Sox do not plan on bringing Jansen back after he has been surrounded by trade rumors for his entire two years there and there were a few reports at the end of the season that he did not get along with his teammates.
The Red Sox signed him to a two-year, $32 million deal ahead of the 2023 season and he has been solid for the team. But, his stint in Boston has featured almost consistent trade rumors and it has been reported on numerous occasions that he isn't expected to sign a new deal with Boston in free agency. -McAvoy

At the end of the season Jansen had pitched his last game with a few games left and knew he was not going to play so he left the team which many players and staff members did not appreciate which is why he will not be returning.
While the Blue Jays have been linked to much stronger relief pitchers this off-season, Jansen could be a solid secondary option if they can land him at a cheap price.
