The Toronto Blue Jays are in the market for a starting pitcher and it seems like free agent Jack Flaherty could be a solid option at a low cost according to reports.

The Blue Jays starting rotation struggled last season and now with rumors of them looking to possibly trade their ace Kevin Gausman, the Blue Jays will need to find some solid arms to turn things around.

The Blue Jays are interested in free agent Jack Flaherty especially with a low projected salary

According to MLB insider Jim Bowden, stated that Flaherty should be able to land a contract of around 3 years worth around $68 million with contract comparisons to Aaron Nola, Carlos Rodon and Jordan Montgomery.
The Athletic's Jim Bowden predicts that Flaherty will earn a three-year deal worth $68 million, with comparable contracts to Lance McCullers Jr., Mitch Keller, Sonny Gray, Pablo Lpez, and Kyle Hendricks. -Delaney

Sportrac also had a similar number in terms of Flaherty's contract as they see him signing a deal that is worth around $21.1 million peer season which on a 3 year contract would be worth $63.168 million.
Spotrac has him at a similar number, giving him a market value of $21.1 million. Over a three-year deal, that contract would be about $63.168 million. Compatible contracts are Blake Snell's with the Giants, Jordan Montgomery, Aaron Nola, and Carlos Rodn. -Delaney

The Blue Jays are apparently looking to spend a maximum of $20 million per season on a starting pitcher which is why Flaherty seems to be a great option since he falls into that area.
There has been rumors of the Blue Jays being interested in free agents Corbin Burnes and Max Fried but they would surely cost much more than Flaherty as their contract projections float around $200 million.
It will be interesting to see if the Blue Jays end up going over their planned budget or if they stick to it and go for lower quality players in the end.
