The Toronto Blue Jays look to have found Bo Bichette's replacement

The Toronto Blue Jays might not have Bo Bichette next season at shortstop, in order to prepare for that possibility, they have been in talks with the Arizona Diamondbacks, showing their interest in Ketel Marte, the Philadelphia Phillies are also interested.
While losing Bichette would be a blow, Marte is more than capable of filling his shoes for the Blue Jays.
Ketel Marte proves to be good option to replace Bichette for Blue Jays.
Colton Pankiw of BlogTo reported on the ongoing situation with Bichette, he will be expensive and the Blue Jays have to solve more than just one problem this offseason. If they allocate all of their budget to Bichette they won't be able to reinforce their pitching, which is definitely in need.
"As reported by MLB insider Jon Morosi, the Blue Jays have checked in on three-time All-Star Ketel Marte. The second baseman hit .283 with 28 home runs and 72 RBI in 2025 with the Arizona Diamondbacks. The 32-year-old agreed to a six-year, $116.5 million extension with the Diamondbacks this past April."-Pankiw
For reference Bichette is expected to sign for over $200M, so they would save a lot of money just trading for Marte. Who is no slouch and has been a 3 time All-Star and 3rd place in NL MVP voting last season. The Diamondbacks are at a 50/50 chance of trading him and the Phillies are also interested in his services.
"It is important to note that Marte does have a limited no-trade clause, though Morosi made it clear that the Jays are not on that list. He also said exactly what everybody is thinking about what their interest in Marte could mean for Bichette."-Pankiw
Marte would play second base most likely, which would result in Angel Gimenez playing the shortstop position. The Blue Jays are just keeping their options open in case Bichette gets too expensive, but Marte is an excellent replacement if need be.
