The Toronto Blue Jays have one of the best first basemen in all of baseball in Vladimir Guerrero Jr, but when he needs some rest, they need a suitable replacement for him, now that Ty France is gone, it'll all depend on if Kyle Tucker or Bo Bichette gets signed.

Ernie Clement is the likely fill in, but he may need to play elsewhere depending which free agent the Blue Jays sign.

Blue Jays need backup first base optio.

Ryley Delaney of Blue Jays Nation covered the options the Blue Jays have to fill in for Guerrero but with France now a free agent, they don't really have that many options, and Guerrero will need a break every once in a while.
"Before France, Ernie Clement was playing first base. Clement was fine defensively at first base, finishing the season with 1 Defensive Runs Saved and 0 Outs Above Average in 69 innings. Clement as the backup first baseman would only work if the Jays sign both Kyle Tucker and Bo Bichette, which seems unlikely because I wrote this, the Jays signed Dylan Cease."-Delaney

Another option would be Anthony Santander, however in his entire MLB career he has a total of two innings at first base, so it's coin flip if he can actually play the position.
They do also have Joey Loperfido, who while in the majors only has 3 innings at first base, has a good amount of experience in the minors playing that position.
"He's only played three big league innings at the position in his young career, but he has experience playing first in the minor leagues, including two seasons with over 150 innings at the position."-Delaney

All in all it seems Clement is the best option to fill that role, but he may be needed in other positions especially if Bichette doesn't re-sign with the team. The Blue Jays will have to navigate this situation next year, because Guerrero can't play every inning.
