The Toronto Blue Jays might be looking to bring Alex Anthopoulos back to Toronto in latest update

The Toronto Blue Jays president Mark Shapiro and GM Ross Atkins both have contracts coming to an end which is why some believe that former GM Alex Anthopoulos might be brought back.
Anthopoulos has been with the Atlanta Braves since leaving Toronto and since his departure, the Blue Jays have failed to win a single playoff game despite making it on numerous occasions.

The Braves are having a very difficult season after dropping another series, they currently sit in third place in the National League East with a 33-39 record which is why many believe they might look to fire Anthopoulos.

If Anthopoulos is fired he will likely get quite a few offers from teams around the league as he has had an incredible track record between Toronto and Atlanta which is where the Blue Jays come in.
The Blue Jays could look to move on from Atkins and Shapiro if they fail to do anything once again this season which seems to be the story since they have taken over.
Anthopoulos returning could be a real possibility since he apparently left when he could not see eye to eye with Shapiro but with him gone, it would make sense that he would be interested in returning.
Anthopoulos and Shapiro reportedly had differing visions for the team's future, leading to his departure. Showcasing how Shapiro and Anthopoulos have differing philosophies when it comes to the Blue Jays future. This was ultimately one of the reason's for him leaving the Blue Jays. -Serrao
But the argument can be made for Anthopoulos' return with the successful tenure that led the Blue Jays to playoff appearances in 2015 and 2016. A significant period of success following a long drought. -Serrao
The Blue Jays have had some solid teams since Anthopoulos left but they have failed to make anything happen in the playoffs.
This would be a great move for Toronto who has quite a few good players but just need some better moves to be made by the front office.
