The Toronto Blue Jays on the verge of blockbuster deal with the Angels for slugger
The Toronto Blue Jays are looking at adding not only pitchers at the deadline but a right handed hitter as well which is where Taylor Ward from the Los Angeles Angels comes in.
The Blue Jays made a big splash two days ago acquiring Seranthony Dominguez and since then Toronto also added starting pitcher Shane Bieber which is why they are now focusing on adding a hitter.

Ross Atkins has apparently been focus on adding pitchers as the main priority for the deadline but now that they have added both Bieber and Dominguez, there is a good chance he turns his focus.
The Blue Jays are still looking for a right handed bat and according to reports the best fit is Angels outfielder Taylor Ward who Toronto has been linked to for a few weeks now.

According to ESPN's article looking at the best available players to be traded, Ward is ranked 21st and has a 40% chance of being traded. As the Blue Jays are still without Anthony Santander, they are looking for a potential replacement while he continues to recover which is why Ward would be the perfect fit.
So far this season, Ward has been putting up serious numbers at the plate with 25 homeruns, 78 RBIs, a .232 batting average and .307 on base percentage in a total of 107 games with the Angels.
Even when the Blue Jays get Santander back from injury, he has struggled so much this season that they need to look for another right handed hitter to add before the playoffs.
With the acquisition of Seranthony Dominguez and Shane Bieber, adding Ward would top of the Blue Jays for a perfect trade deadline.
