Kevin Gowdy released by the Blue Jays after loss to the Tigers
Toronto announced quite early in the off-season that they signed former Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Kevin Gowdy to a minor league deal and assigned him to the Buffalo Bisons in Triple-A.
Alongside infielder Michael Stefanic, the #BlueJays also signed RHP Kevin Gowdy, who has yet to make his big league debut. Here's everything you need to know about him.
After the Blue Jays loss to Detroit this afternoon, the team announced that they have released
Gowdy after he has had a rough season in Triple-A so far this year.
The Toronto Blue Jays released RHP Kevin Gowdy.
Gowdy played 33 games this season with the Bisons in Buffalo in which he put up a 3-2 record with a 5.25 ERA in 36 innings pitched while striking out a total of 32 batters in that time.
The 6'4 pitcher is only 27 years old and despite having no MLB experience, he has been playing in the minors on and off since 2016 which is why he will surely be able to land himself another minor league deal.
This interesting part of this move is that the Blue Jays have been dealing with a lot of injuries this season when it comes to their pitchers which is why it is surprising to see a minor league pitcher released at this time of the year.
