Toronto Blue Jays and Athletics looking to close trade for all-star pitcher

The Toronto Blue Jays are looking to make some big moves at the trade deadline which looks to possibly involving acquiring Athletics pitcher Luis Severino.
The Blue Jays have been linked to a ton of pitchers lately as they have made it clear that it is a big part of their trade deadline plans as they could benefit from acquiring closers and starters.
Blue Jays and Athletics could end up closing a deal for Luis Severino
Athletics starting pitcher Luis Severino signed a three year deal last off-season but he has been having a rough season so far and since the Athletics is far from making the playoffs, they will probably look to trade him at the deadline.
According to reports, the Blue Jays could be interested in trading for Severino since he has a solid resume and despite the rough season he is having they could probably get him for a cheap return and hope he turns things around.
"The Blue Jays make sense as a landing spot because they are currently in first place in the AL East, and they could use another pitcher capable of starting a postseason game," -Kelly
The Blue Jays would also be able to get Severino on a portion on his current salary since the only way the Athletics would be able to move him would be by eating a portion of his salary.
"This would likely be more of a salary dump-even if the A's have to eat some money-so Toronto shouldn't be expected to give up a franchise-altering prospect(s) to facilitate this deal. A Single-A pitcher with a relatively live arm who's a lottery ticket might do the trick." -Kelly
However, this move would come with some risk since Severino has been brutal this season as he currently has a 5.30 ERA in 108.2 innings pitched due to a rough start to the season and has not been much better lately with a 8.03 ERA in his last 7 games.
While this move could be risky, it could also be worth it if they could get him for a cheap price since Severino had a solid 3.91 ERA last season and a change of scenery could get him back into proper form.
