The Toronto Blue Jays are in the market for a new high end reliever and it looks like they are battling it out with the Miami Marlins for free agent Pete Fairbanks.
The Blue Jays have been vocal about going after pitchers to add to their bullpen after it being apparent in the playoffs that it was their biggest weakness.

After a few big names left the board in the last few days such as Ryan Helsley signing with the Baltimore Orioles, now the top relief pitcher left is Fairbanks who is getting a lot of interest as of lately.
According to recent reports, both the Blue Jays and Marlins are very interested in Fairbanks but there has been no details on if either team has put in an official offer just yet.

Last season, Fairbanks put up some great numbers for the Tampa Bay Rays as he finished with 27 saves and a 2.83 ERA in 60.1 innings pitched.
The main worry for the Blue Jays when it comes to Fairbanks is that he has a blood circulation problem which causes him to lose feeling in his hands in colder weather which could be a problem when pitching in Toronto in October.
