Toronto Blue Jays announce move as pitcher is dropped from their roster

The Toronto Blue Jays announce an unexpected roster move this evening as they removed a pitcher from their 40 man roster.
The Blue Jays have been slow to get started so far this off-season as they have yet to make their first signing but have been linked to multiple players.
Blue Jays remove Nick Sandlin from 40 man roster
There has been a lot going on in the MLB so far this season but the Blue Jays have yet to make any major moves just yet.
While the Blue Jays have still yet to announce a signing, they did however make a surprising roster move this evening involving Nick Sandlin.
The Blue Jays decided to remove Sandlin from their 40 man roster and outright him to the Buffalo Bisons a little over a week after removing him from 60-day IL.
According to the Blue Jays transactions log they outrighted Nick Sandlin to AAA Buffalo meaning he's no longer on the 40 man roster.
That's interesting.

Most believe that this might be to be able to protect another player from the MLB rule 5 draft but the team has yet to comment on the reasoning behind the move.

If the Blue Jays end up releasing Sandlin after this move, it would certainly be a move that no fan saw coming at the end of the season.
Sandlin missed the majority of the Blue Jays season due to injury which is why if he were to leave to this off-season it would be unfortunate since fans would have never go to see much of him.
