The Toronto Blue Jays recently announced updates on all of their injured players including Bowden Francis as it looks like his season is done.

The Blue Jays have a lot of talent on IL right now as their team will certainly benefit from getting a lot of these players back in the lineup especially when looking at Andres Gimenez, George Springer and Alejandro Kirk.

Blue Jays pitcher Bowden Francis likely done for the season

News broke on an update for all the Blue Jays injured players in which many are still recovering but at least Kirk is expected to be back in the lineup tomorrow the rest of the IL still has some recovering to do.
As for pitcher Bowden Francis, he has returned to Toronto to check in on his shoulder which seems to be improving but it looks like he is nowhere near begin baseball activities.
- OF Daulton Varsho (hamstring) is back
- C Alejandro Kirk (concussion) is catching in AAA tonight, hopefully back Sunday
- OF George Springer (head) is on the concussion IL. He's feeling better but «just didn't quite really check every single box»
- 2B Andrés Giménez (ankle) running the bases tomorrow. Expected to do so again Sunday and should move to a rehab on Tuesday, if all goes well
- SP Alek Manoah (elbow) threw a 4 inning sim game (69 pitches) at the complex today. Next outing will be in AA/AAA
- SP Shane Bieber (elbow) threw a bullpen in Toronto on Friday, will go back on rehab assignment Sunday
- RP Nick Sandlin (elbow) is feeling better, started playing catch today
- RP Yimi Garcia (elbow) is feeling better, but hasn't started playing catch yet
- SP Bowden Francis (shoulder) is in Toronto this weekend, as his shoulder improves, checking in
- OF Anthony Santander (shoulder) will also be in Toronto this weekend
While this situation is clearly unfortunate for Francis as the chances of him recovering in time before the end of the season are slim, this sort of helps the Blue Jays avoid some issues with their starting rotation.
The Blue Jays currently have 5 starting pitcher but will soon be up to 7 with Alek Manoah and Shane Bieber expected to return soon which is why having Francis return this season would cause some big issues pushing them to 9 starters.
Even with Francis likely being out for the rest of the season, the Blue Jays have some serious issues to figure out with their rotation as they clearly have too many starting pitchers.
