Toronto Blue Jays broadcaster fired by Sportsnet after 16 years
News broke this afternoon that the Toronto Blue Jays long-time on field reporter and former Blue Jays central host Arash Madani has been fired by Sportsnet.
Madani was at Sportsnet for 16 years while being the on field Blue Jays reporter as well as hosting Blue Jays Central before moving away from MLB coverage back in 2023.
Through his first 14 years with the network, Madani was perhaps best known for covering the Toronto Blue Jays, before pivoting away from the MLB, beginning with the 2023 season. -Lasarkis

The news broke this afternoon when Madani posted on social media a long goodbye and thanks to Sportsnet for the past 16 years of his career and despite the unexpected departure, he did not seem bitter at all.

«After 16 incredible years, my time at Sportsnet has come to an end,» Madani said.
«And honestly, what a thrilling ride: Super Bowls, NBA Finals, Stanley Cups, World Series, Grey Cups, all those Olympic Games; pitch-side when Canada finally qualified for the World Cup, a decade after being there in Honduras; Wimbledon, The Masters, that incredible FIBA World Cup where Shai & Co. qualified for Paris. You name it, the network sent me to handle them all,» Madani wrote.

It seems as though instead of being bitter about the news Madari made sure to point out all the incredible moment he was able to live out because on his position at Sportsnet which is why he thanked them for the opportunity.
Madani did speak on his future stating that he does want to remain in broadcasting but did not give any further details on where that will end up being.
Madani also touched on his next steps, hinting at a desire to remain in the broadcasting industry. -Lasarkis
