Toronto Blue Jays CEO Mark Shapiro sends message to Alejandro Kirk
Toronto Blue Jays CEO and president Mark Shapiro recently spoke to the Athletic making some phenomenal comments regarding his catcher Alejandro Kirk.
Kirk has been phenomenal for the Blue Jays which is why he was voted as an AL all-star this season for the second time in his career in 2025 along with Vladimir Guerrero Jr.

Shapiro sat down with the Athletic this week and touched on multiple subjects including how incredible of a season Kirk is currently having with some big praises for the young catcher.
The Blue Jays CEO stated that Kirk has quietly become one of the best defensive catchers in the MLB and added that when it comes to offense he has been delivering time and time again in tough moments.
"Alejandro quietly has become one of the best defensive catchers in the major leagues," Shapiro told Bowden. "At the plate with the game on the line, against the nasty slider down and away, he finds a way to get a hit. He has a slow pulse and doesn't speed it up in critical situations. There is not a moment too big for him." -Shapiro
The stats clearly prove Shapiro's point as Kirk is in the 99th percentile in fielding run value at 15 and leads the MLB with 14 blocks above average.

So far this season, Kirk has 10 homeruns and 57 RBIs with a .293 batting average and .354 on base percentage in 104 games this season which is on pace to be the best offensive season of his career.
Many were skeptical when the Blue Jays signed Kirk to a contract extension at the start of the season but now looking back, clearly the Blue Jays front office made an incredible decision is re-signing him.
If the Blue Jays end up making a deep run in the playoffs, Kirk will certainly have a big part to do with it as he has been a major reason for them currently being in first place in the AL East.
