The Toronto Blue Jays now have Shane Bieber staying for one more season and their goal is to now add one more starting pitcher ideally.
The rotation was not bad by any means,, but compared to the Los Angeles Dodgers, that's where the difference was apparent between the two teams.
Blue Jays need to add starting pitcher as missing puzzle piece.
Colton Pankiw of the Daily Hive reported the pitchers the Blue Jays have targeted this offseason, to continue being one of the best teams in baseball.
The front office is not satisfied with finishing runner-up and they're determined to get the job done next season.
"One of those areas is starting pitching. With Shane Bieber opting in to his player option earlier this week, the Jays now have four solid starters pencilled in: Bieber, Kevin Gausman, Trey Yesavage, and Jose Berrios. Many believed that the fifth spot would be an internal battle, but management instead seems to have its sights on a more solidified option."-Pankiw,
The Blue Jays have targeted Framber Valdez, Dylan Cease, Shota Imanaga, and Ranger Suarez. All of which would complete the rotation and make it one of the best in the MLB. All of which are becoming free agents this offseason.
"Meanwhile, there are a number of great starting pitchers who are expected to get dealt, including Freddy Peralta, Sandy Alcantara, and Sonny Gray."-Pankiw
The Blue Jays cannot rest on their laurels this winter, they have committed and shown they win it all with the core they have, and it would be a shame if they do not get it done in the next coming years.
