The Toronto Blue Jays are in a tight race for the AL East division lead, they played a pivotal game against the Tampa Bay Rays last night and unfortunately for the fans, it was only viewable on Apple TV.
Having the biggest game of the season on a platform that the majority cannot watch was a major disappointment for fans .
Biggest game of the season for Toronto Blue Jays, unwatchable for fans.
Trevor Beggs of Daily Hive Sports spoke on the controversial decision to broadcast the Blue Jays game last night solely on Apple TV.
"Sportsnet was not able to get the Blue Jays back on easily accessible television for the second week in a row. Toronto's 4-2 win over the Tampa Bay Rays was only available for viewing on Apple TV."-Beggs
While this isn't a surprise to fans, it doesn't make it any less frustrating for people, the continued push by streaming services acquiring the rights to everything forces fans to subscribe to multiple streamers.
This isn't new for Blue Jays viewers. Apple TV has had an agreement with the MLB to broadcast «Friday Night Baseball» since 2022. However, it's hard to blame fans for being frustrated when they may have missed a game with playoff-seeding implications."-Beggs
Not only is it a hassle for fans to even watch the game, but with how good the Sportsnet team has been over the past couple years covering the Blue Jays.
It makes the experience even worse, now that they can't listen to their favourite broadcasters during the Blue Jays' biggest moments.
