Blue Jays announce injury update on Bowden Francis
Blue Jays manager John Schneider spoke to the media yesterday, giving them an update on a lot of injured players including Francis who has finally started a throwing progression.
Nick Sandlin (elbow) is continuing to ramp up at Blue Jays complex in Dunedin; he's throwing from flat ground at 120-feet
Bowden Francis (shoulder) has also started a throwing progression
- Yimi Garcia is still experiencing elbow/forearm soreness. He'll be re-evaluated in TOR this weekend. - Nick Sandlin has progressed to throwing from 120 feet in FLA; Bowden Francis has also started throwing (neither off the mound yet).
It was also announced that Garcia is still dealing with pain and is being evaluated once again in Toronto this weekend while Nick Sandlin is now throwing from 120 feet in Florida.
While Francis is finally throwing again which is a huge step in the right direction, there is a solid chance that he might not be back this season as there is less than two months left to the season.
For Francis it is probably better for him to take his time returning from injury since 2025 went quite poorly for the starting pitcher as he currently has a 6.05 ERA in 64 innings pitched this season.
