The Toronto Blue Jays announced today that Canadian outfielder prospect Dasan Brown has been promoted.

Brown is now the second prospect to be promoted this week within the Blue Jays farm system as yesterday news broke that pitcher Gage Stanifer was promoted from High-A to Double-A.

Blue Jays promote Dasan Brown to the Buffalo Bisons

Brown is one of the top prospects in the Blue Jays farm system despite having a tough time at the plate this season with a .175 batting average, 3 homeruns and 14 RBIs this season.
The reason for the call up seems to be due to his speed on the bases as he has stolen 31 bases this season in 33 attempts.
"The right-handed-hitting prospect has played 86 games at double-A New Hampshire this season, hitting a measly .175/.286/.249 with three home runs and 14 RBIs, accounting for a 65 wRC+ (100 league average). But he displayed his elite-level quickness, swiping 31 bases in 33 attempts." -Hall

The Fisher Cats season ends in a week while Buffalo goes until September 21st which is another reason Brown has been called up as it will give him a bit more development before the off-season where he is Rule-5 eligible.
"Buffalo's regular season concludes on Sep. 21, one week after New Hampshire plays its final game. As such, this move will provide Brown - who'll be Rule 5-eligible this off-season - with an extra week of development with the Bisons in 2025." -Hall

While Brown stock has fallen over the last few seasons, he has certainly shown a lot of promise and this short time in Buffalo will give the Blue Jays a good idea if they want to hold onto him this off-season.
The Blue Jays farm system has jumped quite a bit over the season as they started 2025 in 27th and are now ranked 20th across the entire MLB which is a significant jump.
It will be interesting to see how Brown does at the Triple-A level after struggling at the plate in Double-A.
