Toronto Blue Jays closer Jeff Hoffman has been on fire in the month of September but is still dealing with a lot of scrutiny.

A recent report suggested that the Blue Jays were overworking Hoffman towards the end of the season as his velocity was dropping but it does not seem to be affecting him this month.
Jeff Hoffman has been great but still has fans on his back

In Spetember, Hoffman has been on fire as he has pitched 9.2 innings pitched with an phenomenal 0.93 ERA including a 1.03 WHIP and 3 saves.

Jeff Hoffman in September:
9.2 IP
0.93 ERA
1.03 WHIP
3 SV
.147 BAA (his best since March)
Hoffman is ready for October
Despite playing very well at the end of the season, he is still facing backlash online from Blue Jays fans as they still do not trust him due to his consistency issues this season.
One fan mentioned that Seranthony Dominguez is still a better option than Hoffman who has been pitching well too but it still seems unjust with how well Hoffman has been playing.
With all due respect to Jeff Hoffman, Seranthony Dominguez is a better option to close out games in October.
Yes, Jeff Hoffman got through it tonight, but he got several gift calls off the plate. He probably owes home plate ump Tony Randazzo a steak dinner.
In his last 7 games, Hoffman has a 1.35 ERA with 3 saves in 6.2 innings pitched with 6 strikeouts in that time as well showing that he has been great for Toronto lately.
