Toronto Blue Jays manager John Schneider had some big words for Andres gimenez due to how he has been playing since Bo Bichette was placed on IL.

The Blue Jays will only be getting Bichette back for the playoff if everything goes right which means the Blue Jays will continue to use Gimenez at shortstop for the next few weeks.

John Schneider speaks on Andres Gimenez defensive game

Gimenez is arguably one of the best defenders in the MLB which has been on full display since Bichette went down and he took over at shortstop.
During a recent interview, Schneider stated that Gimenez is one of the best infielders in the MLB no matter where the team decides to place him on the field.
"I think he's the best infielder in Major League Baseball, no matter where you put him," -Schneider

Had to argue those comments by Schneider when Gimenez has the hardware to prove it with a Platinum Glove win to his name in 2023 to go along with 3 Gold Glove awards.
"Giménez was also the Platinum Glove winner for the American League in 2023 to go with his three Gold Gloves. He's going for a fourth in a row this season, and looks to be the favorite despite missing the better part of two months due to injuries." -Roberts

There is no denying that Gimenez is incredible defensively but it will be interesting to see how Schneider ends up handling the situation once Bichette returns from injury since Gimenez could very well be there shortstop next year if Bichette leaves.
"The elephant in the room, of course, is that Giménez could very well be the team's shortstop next season if Bichette signs elsewhere in free agency. Even if Bichette stays, Giménez's defense is such an improvement that it might behoove Toronto to have a talk with its homegrown All-Star about switching positions to benefit the team." -Bichette
