The Toronto Blue Jays are enjoying their best offseason deal as Blue Jays closer Jeff Hoffman is providing great work early on this season.

Hoffman, who was originally drafted by the Blue Jays and then was sent in exchange for Troy Tulowitzki and LaTroy Hawkins back in 2015 signed a three-year deal worth $33 million and has provided the team with excellent pitching.

Hoffman trying to prove teams wrong with his body of work

During the offseason, Hoffman was approached by several teams including the Baltimore Orioles, Atlanta Braves and the Blue Jays for his services.
It appeared that the Orioles were going to sign Hoffman to a three-year deal much like the Blue Jays but backed out suddenly as they were concerned about his health.
It appeared that he had failed several physical exams as he was suffering from a nagging shoulder injury which caused teams to be concerned and not offer the deals.
During one of the Blue Jays victories against the Orioles,Hoffman made an awkward move where he blew a kiss to the Orioles dugout as he closed out the game and gave the team the win.
Through the first 12 appearances of his Blue Jays career after stepping into the closer role for Toronto, Hoffman has pitched to a 1.35 ERA and allowed just eight hits and two runs in 13.1 innings pitched with 19 strikeouts. - Michael Brauner

Blue Jays looking to build of game 1 win over the Yankees

The Blue Jays we're hoping to build off their game one victory in the series against the Yankees as they won 4-2, but the Jays game on Saturday was delayed due to the weather and will likely be rescheduled later this summer.
Having performances like Hoffman's will certainly give the team confidence and now that the bats may be awakening after going silent through most of the Astros series and their two losses against the Seattle Mariners, the Jays will continue to hope for a resurgence after this early season slump.
The Blue Jays will take the field in Yankee Stadium on Sunday April 27th and the game will begin at 1:35 PM.
