The Toronto Blue Jays have been without starting pitcher Bowden Francis for quite some time now and he gave an update on his injury during a recent interview.

Before the playoffs, many were expecting Francis to be available ahead of the playoffs since he has been out since June and recovering but it looks like the injury was more serious than they expected.

The Blue Jays had a couple inter-squad games ahead of the ALDS in which Francis took the mound for the first time since June as he faced live batters and had many wondering if he would be added to the 26 man roster.
Francis spoke with Lindsay Dunn about his injury stating that his recovery has taken a lot longer than expected but that he is now feeling a lot better physically and it looks like there is hope for him if the Blue Jays move on.
"I'm feeling a lot better physically. It took a lot longer than I wanted." - Francis on his injury recovery.
Bowden was on the mound in the Jays' intrasquad game on Thursday.

Francis was transferred to 60 day IL ahead of the trade deadline where he finished the season but it looks like he is finally getting better.

Francis was left off the 26 man roster for the ALDS along with Max Scherzer, Chris Bassitt and Jose Berrios but it looks like all 4 pitchers have a chance to return for the ALCS if the Blue Jays move on.
Adding Francis to the roster in the ALCS if the Blue Jays move on is certainly a risky move as he has not pitched in a real game in months and bringing him back at this point could be worrisome.
