The Toronto Blue Jays announce quite the roster move this afternoon as they place relief pitcher Easton Lucas on unconditional release waivers.
The Blue Jays have had a busy day as they announced the signing of former Phillies infielder Rodolfo Castro this morning as well.

There has not been much going on the transaction wire for the Blue Jays lately but today things change as two moves were made.
The Blue Jays decided to place Lucas on unconditional release waivers as they have decided to part ways with the 29 year old pitcher.

This move is likely to open up a spot on the Blue jays 40 man roster and if Lucas ends up clearing and does not get claimed, he will become a free agent.

This move does not come as big surprise since Lucas did not have the best season in 2025 with the Blue Jays finishing with a 6.66 ERA in 24.1 innings pitched to go along with a 3-3 record and 23 strike outs.
Due to a few brief moments where he looked solid on the mound for the Blue Jays, there is a good chance that Lucas gets claimed and if he does not he will certainly land a new contract this off-season.
