The Toronto Blue Jays have been practicing and resting their injured players this week while their opponents have been battling in the Wild Card round.

The Blue Jays have some big decisions to make before the ALDS when it comes to their final roster and GM Ross Atkins surprisingly stated that Trey Yesavage will be included in the plans but might come out of the bullpen.

Blue Jays benefitting from the Red Sox and Yankees series going to 3 games

The Red Sox and Yankees have been battling for a spot in the ALDS as the series has gone to 3 games while the Blue Jays have been resting and getting ready for the best of 5 series.
"As Jays players find the right mix of rest and preparation at home, the Yanks and BoSox will play for a third consecutive night in the Bronx for the right to move on to Toronto for a best-of-five ALDS starting Saturday afternoon." -Longley

One of the biggest benefits in all of this for the Blue Jays is that both teams are wearing down their pitchers ahead of the ALDS while Toronto's pitchers will be coming off plenty of rest.
"For starters, wearing down pitchers is a critical factor both with starters and the bullpen. It certainly will be all hands on deck on Thursday night, especially if it's a tight and tense game." -Longley

The only part that could go against the Blue Jays is that their opponent could end up gaining some momentum from the series and enter the ALDS ready to roll against Toronto.
Regardless of that, the Blue Jays will certainly have the upper hand going into the series thanks to all the rest and practice they have been getting.
The Wild Card series has gone to the last game which should only help the Blue Jays in the long run.
