Toronto Blue Jays seem to have made an incredible move with new starting pitcher

The Toronto Blue Jays recently signed starting pitcher Spencer Turnbull to a major league deal and had him pitch in his first game with the Dunedin Blue Jays where he performed.
The Blue Jays signed Turnbull to a major league contract a few weeks ago along with starting pitcher Jose Urena since the Blue Jays still have Max Scherzer on the injured list.

The Blue Jays signed Turnbull and Urena to help with all of their injuries and underperforming starting rotation but since Turnbull has not pitched since midway through last season, they sent him to Dunedin to slowly ramp up.
The Blue Jays signed the 32-year-old to a one-year deal earlier this month as they dealt with injuries and underperformance at the back end of their starting rotation. Toronto also brought in veteran righty Jose Urena on a one-year deal, who has since made three appearances with the club. -TSN
Turnbull only pitched 54.1 innings for the Philadelphia Phillies last season but finished with a stunning 2.65 ERA before going down in June with a lat strain injury which kept him out the rest of the season.

However, Turnbull's season was ended by a lat strain in June and he went unsigned into the 2025 regular season. When news of his signing became official, the Jays said Turnbull would be assigned to the FCL Blue Jays as he ramped up for the season. -TSN
