The Toronto Blue Jays seem to be sending a message to Jeff Hoffman that he is no longer their closer as they continue to look at other options including Robert Suarez.

Hoffman has been linked to multiple rumors this off-seasonwhich includes trade or movement in the bullpen.

Robert Suarez heavily linked to Blue Jays.

Caleb Kerney of the Heavy reported on the need for a closer for the Blue Jays.
Hoffman would be much better suited as a middle reliever with less pressure and a true closer would put the Blue Jays at the very fore front for favorites to win the World Series next year, and Mitch Bannon agrees.
"Adding Tucker and closer Robert Suarez addresses the Jays' final two needs with top-of-market All-Stars. They'd not only fill out Toronto's roster but become significant figures on the Jays' quest to get back to the World Series.»-Bannon

Earlier this offseason the Blue Jays were rumored to be going after Edwin Diaz, who is the best closer in baseball, but it's almost certain now that he re-signs with the New York Mets.
Suarez is the second best option, and one the Blue Jays would be thrilled to have, they would turn their weakness into a strength in one move.
By adding Suarez, they can utilize Hoffman in the best way possible. That means pushing him to the setup role he enjoyed for arguably the best year of his career (2024). Suarez has 77 career saves under his belt. -Kerney

The Blue Jays have almost all the pieces they need to have one of the best rosters in baseball. It's going to take one more superstar in either Bo Bichette or Kyle Tucker, and the closer to win you a game 7 in the World Series, like Robert Suarez to get them there.
One thing is for sure this isn't the same organization they were 3 years ago, the Blue Jays are heading in winter meetings with a different vibe around them. and they are going to use to get the best talent possible.
