The Toronto Blue Jays want to make some big changes to their bullpen this off-season and a recent report suggest that Jeff Hoffman could be on his way out.

The Blue Jays have been linked to some big time closers such as Edwin Diaz but all these scenarios involve keeping Hoffman and moving him out of the closer role.

Jeff Hoffman could be on his way out of Toronto according to report

Bleacher Report's Kerry Miller put together a list of players for each team that are most likely to be traded this off-season in a recent report which saw an interesting take for the Blue Jays.

According to Miller, stated that Hoffman who has $12.7 million coming his way over the next two seasons is the most likely player to be traded by the Blue Jays this off-season.

$12.7M in each of 2026 and 2027

Miller added that if the Blue Jays are not aggressively shopping Hoffman this winter, they will at the bare minimum be listening to offers for him due to the multiple closers available this off-season.

"if the Blue Jays aren't aggressively shopping Hoffman this winter, they're at least going to be receptive to offers. It helps that there are plenty of closers available in free agency to backfill that job." -Miller

Blue Jays fans were clearly not happy with Miller's take on the matter as they believe that even if the Blue Jays acquire a new closer, there is no reason to trade Hoffman.

The part that might motivate a move to happen is if the Blue Jays do end up acquiring a new closer and Hoffman does not want to pitch in the 8th inning.
