Toronto Maple Leafs come across for Blue Jays fans in a big way
The city of Toronto had a lot to be excited about Wednesday night, the Maple Leafs won their home opener, but the fans stayed in the arena after the game to watch the Blue Jays beat the New York Yankees on the jumbotron to win the ALDS in 4 games.
It was a proud moment as both sports united with pride for their city, and reminds how sports can bring us all together.
Maple Leafs and Blue Jays share success during home opener and ALDS.
Manna Randhawa of MLB.com reported on the exciting times in Toronto Wednesday night, fans had two big reasons to celebrate as their hockey team kicked off the season in good fashion, and their baseball team is well on their way to winning a championship.
"he crowd was thrilled, to be sure. But the fans in attendance weren't ready to leave the venue after the game ended. That's because there was some other business to attend to. On the scoreboard, the Maple Leafs played the final few innings of Game 4 of the American League Division Series between the Blue Jays and Yankees at Yankee Stadium."-Randhawa
The Blue Jays dominated the Yankees this series, the first two games saw the biggest offensive output ever on the Yankees in their postseason's history, and even after dropping their 3rd game, there was never a doubt they were going to come out and win game 4.
The Blue Jays look confident and ready to win a championship, and that only becomes more apparent every game.
"When reliever Jeff Hoffman struck out Cody Bellinger for the final out, Scotiabank Arena erupted in jubilation. It was a good day to be a Toronto sports fan."-Randhawa
The Toronto Blue Jays now await their next opponent either the Seattle Mariners or the Detroit Tigers in the ALCS. And all that action starts on Sunday.
