The Toronto Blue Jays have decided to go with starting pitcher Trey Yesavage for tomorrow's game 2 in Toronto and the rookie pitcher spoke to reporters about the decision this afternoon.

John Schneider told reporters earlier this afternoon that the Blue Jays have decided to go with Yesavage for game 2 and Shane Bieber for game 3.

During a press conference this afternoon, Yesavage told reporters that he was excited to face such a historic franchise like the Yankees tomorrow.

"It's really cool just to be out here and playing such a historic franchise."

Yesavage added that he is quite confident in his abilities as he said that he is built for this after being named tomorrow's starter.

"I'm built for this."

The rookie pitcher then joked that the organization managed his innings and pitch count throughout the entire season to get him ready for October baseball.

Trey Yesavage joked today that he's “met everyone in the organization” by playing for all five levels in 2025.
