With the Toronto Blue Jays and Los Angeles Dodgers both playing in the World Series this season, both Jose Urena and Buddy are guaranteed to get a ring no matter who wins, since both played for each team this season.
Only two players in the MLB are guaranteed to get World Series rings.
J.J. Post of TSN reported an interesting phenomenon that will happen with both Urena and Kennedy, since they were both on the Blue Jays and then later the Dodgers this season, they will get a ring regardless of who wins the World Series.
"After beginning the year with the Philadelphia Phillies, Kennedy joined the Blue Jays in July. After just under a month in Triple-A, he was promoted to Toronto's active major league roster, where he made two appearances before being designated for assignment. He was soon claimed off waivers by the Dodgers."-Post
Urena had a similar situation where he was signed by the Blue Jays in early May, he made six appearances for them before being put on assignment, then the Dodgers claimed him, he made two appearances for them and was put back on assignment.
"While Blue Jays and Dodgers fans around the world stress about the Series' conclusion, Kennedy and Urena can put their feet up -- both have a good chance of seeing a ring fitting in the near future regardless."-Post
Now that the series comes down to a best of three games with the Blue Jays already up 1 game, things are actually getting close but at the end of the day both players will end up with a ring no matter what.
This isn't a common thing to happen, but luckily for both players they can call themselves World Series champions no matter who comes out on top.
