Umpire Doug Eddings facing backlash after game 2 between the Blue Jays and Mariners

The Toronto Blue Jays lost 10-3 to the Seattle Mariners yesterday but the big story has been regarding umpire Doug Eddings who has been facing a lot of backlash.
Doug Eddings faces backlash after game 2 of the ALCS
During the game last night, Eddings missed a total of 24 calls throughout the game going against both teams which had fans of both teams quite upset.
Umpire Doug Eddings missed 24 calls in ALCS game 2.
This was the worst called playoff game since October 7, 2022 -- a game also called by Eddings
One call against Trey Yesavage had fans furious as the pitcher, catcher and hitter all assumed it was a strike 3 call until Eddings decided to call it a ball.
The pitcher, catcher, hitter, 3rd baseman & 1st baseman all thought a punch out was coming...
This is likely the exact reason that the MLB is moving onto the ABS system next season to avoid this many bad calls in such a crucial game in the playoffs.
While umpires cannot always make the perfect call, a total of 24 wrong calls is simply too many for a American League Championship Series game.
Hopefully the
Blue Jays will have better luck when it comes to umpires in game 3 Wednesday night in Seattle.
The Blue Jays and Mariners will play tomorrow night in Seattle with the first pitch at 8:08 PM.
