Vladimir Guerrero Jr. surprised his mother with a brand-new Lexus LX 600 on Thursday. The Blue Jays star shared the moment on his Instagram story.
The gift went to his mom, Riquelma Ramos. He posted a photo of her posing with the SUV.
“Te amo, te mereces eso y más,” he wrote. That translates to “I love you, you deserve that and more.”
It wasn't a cheap gesture. The LX 600 starts around $157,000, and this one appears to feature a burnt-orange leather interior.
The bond between them has always been visible. Every May, Guerrero typically wears pink gloves, socks or cleats to honour the woman who raised him.
His offseason has been a mix of family time and work. He's spent time on his farm and gone fishing with friends back home in the Dominican Republic.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is also putting in work with his Hall of Fame father
Is he just relaxing? Not quite.
He's been working with his father, Hall of Famer Vladimir Guerrero Sr., trying to get his swing back on track.
That work matters more than any gift. The six-time All-Star hit a career-worst .260 in 2026.
The power disappeared, too. He'd hit 20-plus homers in each of his five previous seasons before this year's drop.
It's a great moment, and he's earned the right to spoil his mom. But Toronto's season hinges on what happens in those batting cage sessions with his dad, not on Instagram.
Rebuilding a swing is like restoring an old car. All the parts are there, but it takes patience to get the engine purring again.
He's in the second year of a $500 million contract that runs through 2039. Expectations aren't going anywhere.
His mom got her dream SUV this week. Blue Jays fans are hoping their gift arrives in spring, in the form of a swing that looks like the old Vladdy again.
